BYSA Open Play at Jumbo Evans Each Sunday

BYSA hosts family-friendly, open soccer games at Jumbo Evans every Sunday from now until the end of the spring season.

U11 to U14 players will play from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. U15 to adults will play from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. U11 to U14 players need to have a parent present as well as proper equipment (cleats, shin guards). We welcome all BYSA members, family, and friends to join the fun!

Spring 2010 Season Registration Now Closed

Spring 2010 soccer registration is now closed. We will be sorting through all submitted registrations and forming teams over the next few days. The recreational coaches meeting will be held Thursday, February 25th at which time the coaches will be given their packets of player information. Parents should be contacted by their child’s coach no later than Sunday, February 28 to set up the first practices which will be held the first week of March. Opening games for U6 and U8 age groups will be March 13th. Rec U10 and U11 teams will be contacted by their coaches soon as they may begin practicing this last week of February with their first games on March 6th.

BYSA Ready to Kick into High Gear Through Affiliation with Dallas Texans-San Antonio

The Bulverde Youth Soccer Association is very pleased to announce that the anticipated affiliation between BYSA and the Dallas Texans-San Antonio Soccer Club is now a reality. The Dallas Texans Soccer Club is the top-ranked youth soccer club in the country, and this agreement will bring virtually limitless soccer opportunities for our players, coaches, and families.

Dallas Texans - San Antonio

Starting with the fall 2010 season, the Ranger Soccer Club will become part of the Dallas Texans-San Antonio organization and the Dallas Texans-SA will provide training and coaching for all developmental and competitive teams at Jumbo Evans. This includes U9 and up, all Division II, Super II, and Division I teams.

BYSA will continue to promote and operate its very popular recreational program, and BYSA will continue to manage and operate everything that happens at the Jumbo Evans Sports Complex, including the fields, games, and referees.

Combining resources with the Dallas Texans organization provides a very clear player development path from U5 soccer all the way through U19. Thomas Woolley, Director of Coaching for the Texans said that "Joining the Dallas Texans will give BYSA players and coaches wonderful opportunities for exchanges, tournaments, camps and clinics. The affiliation will also provide administrative and sponsorship support for BYSA, which ultimately helps players and families."

Bryan Smith, BYSA's President, said, "Over the years that I have been with the Rangers, we have seen so many talented players leave us for other clubs that were able to offer more opportunities than we could at the time. Consequently, we could never truly compete with the larger clubs in the area. While it has always been our desire to provide a playing spot for every player at the right level, it has not always been possible. Through our affiliation with the Dallas Texans, we now can offer the very best soccer environment, training, competition, and opportunities for our kids - at all levels, right here in the Bulverde area at Jumbo Evans. With the resources and opportunities that the Dallas Texans-SA will bring, we hope to not only see those talented players coming back to BYSA, but we also expect to be able to attract players from surrounding areas, making this club their first choice.”
